Question 1

How accurate are the birth chart calculations?

Accepted Answer

We use the Swiss Ephemeris, the most accurate astronomical calculation engine available, combined with the traditional Lahiri ayanamsa (Chitrapaksha). Our calculations match those of professional Jyotish astrologers with precision to the second of arc. The accuracy depends on your birth time accuracy - even a 4-minute difference can change your Lagna (ascendant).

Question 2

What is the difference between D1 and D9 charts?

Accepted Answer

D1 (Lagna/Rashi chart) is your main birth chart showing overall life themes, personality, and destiny. D9 (Navamsa chart) is a divisional chart that reveals deeper insights, particularly about marriage, spouse characteristics, spiritual inclinations, and the strength of planetary promises from the D1 chart. Navamsa is considered the "fruit" of the birth chart.

Question 3

How does the AI prediction work?

Accepted Answer

Our AI analyzes your complete birth chart including planetary positions, house placements, aspects (drishti), yogas, current dasha periods (Vimshotri, Kaalchakra, Yogini), and ongoing transits (Gochara) to generate personalized, context-aware predictions. The AI is trained on classical Vedic astrology texts like BPHS, Jataka Parijata, and Phaladeepika.

Question 4

Is my birth data stored securely?

Accepted Answer

Your birth details are stored locally in your browser using encrypted localStorage. We prioritize your privacy and never share your personal information with third parties. For registered users, birth data is encrypted in our database with industry-standard AES-256 encryption and is only used to provide you with personalized astrological services.

Question 5

What is Vimshotri Dasha?

Accepted Answer

Vimshotri Dasha is the most popular predictive system in Vedic astrology, covering a 120-year cycle. It divides life into planetary periods (Mahadasha) of 6-20 years each, further subdivided into sub-periods (Antardasha and Pratyantardasha). The sequence follows Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus, and Sun. Each period brings themes related to that planet's nature and house rulership.

Question 6

What is Lahiri Ayanamsa?

Accepted Answer

Lahiri Ayanamsa (Chitrapaksha) is the most widely used precession correction in Vedic astrology, officially adopted by the Government of India. It accounts for the precession of equinoxes (approximately 24° as of 2024), converting tropical zodiac positions to sidereal positions. This ensures planetary positions align with actual star constellations, not seasonal markers.

Question 7

How accurate does my birth time need to be?

Accepted Answer

Birth time accuracy is crucial in Vedic astrology. The Lagna (ascendant) changes approximately every 2 hours, but even a 4-minute difference can shift the exact degree. For best results, use the time from your birth certificate or hospital records. If unsure, birth time rectification techniques can be applied by consulting a professional astrologer.

Question 8

Can I use this for kundali matching before marriage?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our compatibility calculator uses the traditional Ashtakoot (8 Kuta) system - Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, and Nadi - totaling 36 Gunas. A score of 18+ is considered acceptable, 24+ is good, and 30+ is excellent. We also analyze Mangal Dosha, 7th house compatibility, and Navamsa harmony for comprehensive matching.

Question 9

What are yogas in Vedic astrology?

Accepted Answer

Yogas are special planetary combinations that produce specific results. Raja Yogas bring power and status, Dhana Yogas bring wealth, Budha-Aditya Yoga enhances intelligence, and Gaja Kesari Yoga brings wisdom and prosperity. Our calculator identifies 50+ major yogas in your chart including Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas, Raj Yogas, and doshas like Kala Sarpa Yoga.

Question 10

How often do planetary transits change?

Accepted Answer

Transit speeds vary by planet: Moon changes signs every 2.25 days, Sun monthly, Mercury and Venus every 3-4 weeks, Mars every 1.5 months, Jupiter yearly, Saturn every 2.5 years, and Rahu/Ketu every 1.5 years. Major transits like Saturn or Jupiter changing signs (Gochara) can significantly impact your chart for extended periods.

Question 11

What is the difference between Vedic and Western astrology?

Accepted Answer

Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac aligned with actual star constellations, while Western uses the tropical zodiac aligned with seasons. Vedic emphasizes Moon sign and Dasha systems for predictions, uses whole sign houses, includes Rahu/Ketu (lunar nodes) as primary planets, and focuses more on karma and spiritual evolution.

Question 12

Are the predictions guaranteed to come true?

Accepted Answer

Vedic astrology shows karmic tendencies and probable outcomes, not guaranteed futures. Charts indicate the seeds of karma planted; free will, effort, and spiritual practices (remedies) can modify results. Astrology is 70% accurate according to classical texts. Use predictions as guidance for preparation and decision-making, not as fixed destiny.

Question 13

What remedies can I do to improve my chart?

Accepted Answer

Vedic astrology offers various remedies (Upayas): gemstone therapy (wear stones of benefic planets), mantra chanting (planetary mantras), charity (dana) on specific days, fasting on planetary days, Yantra worship, visiting temples on transit days, and performing specific pujas. Remedies work by strengthening weak planets and pacifying malefic influences.

Question 14

Can I see my past life karma in the birth chart?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 12th house (losses, moksha), Ketu placement (detachment, past karmic debts), and Saturn position (karmic lessons) indicate past life patterns. The Navamsa chart (D9) shows dharmic carryover from past lives. Rahu shows unfulfilled desires bringing you into this incarnation. Analyzing these elements provides insight into karmic patterns.

Question 15

Is Mangal Dosha (Mars affliction) really important for marriage?

Accepted Answer

Mangal Dosha (Kuja Dosha) occurs when Mars occupies 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from Lagna, Moon, or Venus. While traditionally considered significant, modern Vedic astrologers analyze severity (partial vs full dosha), cancellations (when both partners have it), and overall chart compatibility. Not all Mangal Doshas cause marriage problems - context matters.
